NEW YORK (Reuters) - A potential multibillion-dollar judgment against Vivendi SA for misleading shareholders hung in the balance as a Manhattan judge weighed whether a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling limited damages.

U.S. News & World Report - Most experts in the fund industry seem satisfied with the Securities and Exchange Commission's vote to eliminate 12b-1 fees--fees that some funds charge shareholders to cover marketing and advertising expenses. The SEC voted unanimously to eliminate the fees, but no changes will take effect until a 90-day comment period has passed and the public's input has been evaluated.
